Oak Pointe Nursing and Rehabilitation Center Outdoor Visitation Update
July 9, 2020Baltic, Ohio - Dear Residents and Family Members,
I am writing to update you on the status of Oak Pointe Nursing and Rehabilitation Center during the public health emergency related to the Coronavirus or COVID-19. We continue to follow all directives from local, state, and federal governments. At this time, visitors are still not permitted at skilled nursing facilities such as Oak Pointe Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Governor DeWine, however, has issued an order to allow outdoor visitation for residents in a skilled nursing facility beginning July 20, 2020. We are very pleased that our residents will be able to visit with you again. We have been working on our policies in anticipation of this day!
Prior to your visit, you will be provided the policy and procedure set forth by the facility to facilitate your visit and continue to protect our residents. You should expect to be screened for signs and symptoms of COVID 19 before your visit. If you are not feeling well, please do not come to the facility. Visitors will be required to wear a mask and practice social distancing. This includes not making contact with the resident.
We are committed to bringing families back together and will work diligently to accommodate the visit. The visits will need to be scheduled in advance, be no more than one hour, and limited to 3 visitors at a time. The facility may suspend visits if there are active cases of COVID-19 in the facility, inclement weather, or other safety concerns. If the resident is unable to attend an outdoor visit, we will continue to facilitate window visits. We also request you call to schedule window visits. We need to assist our residents to a safe place to visit with you.
We acknowledge the toll your inability to visit has taken on our residents and look forward to reuniting you.
Sincerely,
Monica DeWitt
